Women's Fund Grants

The Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, now in its fifth full year of operation, has raised more than $1 million and granted $278,000 to organizations helping women and children in Hinds, Madison and Rankin Counties and on the Gulf Coast for Hurricane Katrina relief assistance.

    In addition, the Women’s Fund was one of five foundations in the region to share in a $500,000 grant to the Women’s Funding Network from the Kellogg Foundation and Ms. Foundation for Women to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The portion received by the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, $130,000, was used to create the Fund for the Women and Children of Katrina, which has made the following grants:

    The Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault conducts a mock trial held to help show how evidence in a sexual assault trial is handled.
